Christine and Peter
How They Met
At my Bridesmaid Kayleigh’s New Years Eve Party
We went on our first international trip overseas to New Zealand(South Island) to meet our local friends living in Timaru. We had been travelling the south island for a week when Peter proposed on the foothills of (Mt.) Ben Lomond after a fantastic gourmet red stag buffet overlooking Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. Completed the evening with a scenic private gondola ride down the mountain to an ice bar and partied the night away!
Tip for Engaged Couples
If its practical, take your time and plan! Weddings take way more effort than you can possibly imagine. You learn a lot about each other as a couple during your engagement, don’t rush it! And hire a planner! Jen Wilson (Jennifer Alexa Events) was hands down the wedding MVP along with her talented artistic assistant Kyle. She made our wedding enjoyable by handling the last minute minutiae and vendor wrangling. Not to mention the months of planning she helped us do, WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Finding the Perfect Gown
I went to David’s Bridal and the second dress I tried was the one! I proceeded to try on other gowns but all I could think about was the one I loved. My bridal party could tell I was in love with the second dress; so with their encouragement I officially declared it mine, rang the bell, and said yes to the dress!
Favorite Wedding Memory
Picking a favorite would be impossible, but the highlights were the carousel, beautiful venue, animal encounters, and best man speech! Unforgettable night!

Bride's Favorite Moment
When our friend Karel from New Zealand surprised us during his speech with “Greenstone” as a heartfelt gift. It was a representation of our other friends (also from New Zealand) Sarah and Corey; who sadly could not attend due to recently becoming parents!
Groom's Favorite Moment
Our flower arch trying to kill us
Our Wedding was something that wasn’t fully traditional as we had a dog theme going on because our dog Lola means the world to us and has been a big part of our relationship. Our cake and decor needed to have her there with us since pets unfortunately can’t be brought to the zoo.
