Katie and Kellen
How They Met
We met in grade school, we were always best friends. I asked him to the prom in 11th grade, and we have been inseparable ever since!
I actually proposed to him...Hmm, I see a recurrent theme here, haha! We were kayaking down the Cuyahoga river and he stood up in the kayak and started playing at tipping it. I screamed, and it must have startled him, because he fell out of the boat. While he was struggling to get in, he knocked me in, and we were just sitting there, laughing, and I just asked him to marry me!
Tip for Engaged Couples
When it's right, it's right! It doesn't matter if you're 8 or 88, if everything seems perfect, it IS perfect!
Finding the Perfect Gown
Kellen actually picked my dress. We were flipping through a wedding magazine, and he pointed to mine...good thing I'm not superstitious.
Favorite Wedding Memory
We got married in Jamaica at Beaches there. It was perfect...everything was done for us so that we could enjoy our day...I'd say that the whole thing was the best memory ever.
The whole wedding was on the beach, in the sand at about two hours before sunset. I kicked off my shoes and walked down the aisle barefoot. It was the best feeling ever.
Bride's Favorite Moment
There was a moment when my dad was walking me down the aisle. Kellen wasn't even looking at me, but all of my friends and family were, so I was smiling at them, and I happened to glance up, and he was there, smiling at me with the biggest smile on his face. I want to say I saw a tear, but maybe it was just sweat.
Groom's Favorite Moment
It was just sweat, haha! I would have to say that my favorite moment was seeing Katie for the first time. I wasn't even aware that she was walking down the aisle because I had reached into my pocket and didn't feel the ring, and was panicking, but my dad had my back. I was so relieved, and I looked up, and there she was , and she looked so beautiful...ok, maybe it wasn't sweat!
