How They Met

“An accidental coffee date turned into a day we pray is a lifetime of forever.”

Proposal Story

“We took a two-week trip to Asia and went to the Great Wall on the very first day. We went up to the tallest tower on the Mutianya section of the wall and I thought we were taking a break to catch our breath before heading down. Instead, he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. Most tourists weren’t willing to walk all the way up so it was just the two of us. It was so perfect and a complete surprise.”

Tip for Engaged Couples

“There’s always potential for planning a big party to become very stressful, which is why it’s so important to remember what your wedding is all about. Just enjoy the day with your new spouse!”

Finding the Perfect Gown

“My aunt, Kathryn, who owns a bridal shop that I worked at for many years, came to help me get dressed before we left for the church. For years and years, I watched the inventory at the bridal shop change and never knew what I would wear myself. When it was finally time for me to pick my own dress, Kathryn had me try a gown that I never would’ve chosen and it was the one I wore down the aisle!”

Favorite Wedding Memory

“Locking eyes with each other in the church as I walked down the aisle was something neither of us will ever forget. It was the moment that the day got so real. Neither of us were super nervous or too emotional. We were just extremely happy.”

Lovely Location

After a December engagement, Mark and Stacy decided that his hometown of Chicago would be the location for their upcoming March nuptials, with a reception in Northeast Ohio. “Since we wanted a short engagement, we chose March for our wedding,” explains Stacy. After wandering into Chicago’s Second Presbyterian Church for a complimentary tour, Stacy and Mark quickly fell in love with the church and its artistic architecture. For the reception, they then decided on the Chicago Cultural Center as it was not only large enough to accommodate their guest list, but it also houses a magnificent Tiffany dome ceiling and memorable mosaics that leave guests and visitors alike in complete awe.

Bride's Favorite Moment

“My favorite moment of the day was when I saw Mark for the first time. We chose to see each other before the wedding for pictures. I was only familiar with the idea of a husband seeing his wife walking down the aisle. However, our wedding planner explained that picture time would likely be the most alone time we would have together once the ceremony began. I love that intimate moment between us.”

Groom's Favorite Moment

“My favorite moment of the day was when my dad took me aside during the reception and told me that I had married the perfect person for me. He died suddenly two months later. I wouldn't have missed that moment for the world.

Darling Details

To finish her bridal look, Stacy wore delicate baroque pearl earrings as she loved their classic elegance and unique features. “I like that each piece is unique since the pearls vary,” explains Stacy, when describing her bridal accessories.
